The Grammy's!

RED CARPET:
Ciara was UC's top favorite dress, along with Ms. Paris Hilton.
These woman looked stunning!

Emilio Pucci

House Of Milan
UC's Male pick is Ryan Lewis, Macklemore and Kendick Lamar

Turk Houndstooth
Dior Homme

Best performance was Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons

Others who caught our eye waere Madonna, she looked lovely especially for her age! Kevin Hart looked dapper. Amber Rose looked stunning, and she also got all her tattoos covered! Beyonce of course killed it! Pharrell caught our eye but not in a good way. He was dressed to chill, and his hat threw everything off. Pharrell however wore the hat to pay tribute to an old Hip-Hop group.

Overall the Grammy's was slightly disappointing. Macklemore took home best rap song, best new artist and best performance of the year. He isn't a bad rapper but he shouldn't have won those categories. How did he beat Ye', Jay Z and Kendrick? Beyonce opened up the show but the performance wasn't anything spectacular. She also lip sync the majority of the performance. While Pink was flying in the air singing live the whole time. The grammy's seem to get disappointing year by year! Comment what you think!

Pharrell Interviews Spike Lee

Pharrell sits and interviews Spike Lee on ARTST TLK! These types of interviews are more entertaining because its more of a conversation, both are asking each other questions. The interview was very empowering. They talked about education, the productions they both created, reminisced and more. Everyone can learn from it! UC favorite part would have to be when Spike says "parents kill more dreams than anybody". Don't let your parents or anyone stop you from sharing the gift you were given!

Miguel Speaks On Writing 'Rocket' For Beyonce

Miguel had a interview with VIBE magazine on writing 'Rocket' for Beyonce. He speaks highly of Beyonce and he mentions how honorable it was to write a song for a album she cared so much about.
“What's the first thing I'd want Beyoncé to say to me, as a man? What have I not heard her say?” Miguel recalls thinking. “That's where the song came from. And essentially it's what all of us would want Beyoncé to say to us—no disrespect, obviously, to Jay.”- Miguel

Juicy J announces the winner for 50,000 scholarship contest

It's not all about twerking! Zarie Holmes won and she didn't even twerk. The rules didn't call for twerking, all you had to do was explain why you really needed the money! Everyone who made a twerking video for money must have not read those rules because Juicy J didn't want any of that. Juicy J really gave back and for the RIGHT reason. Hopefully more rappers will take the hint.
"Its not all about the twerking" -Juicy J

Are You A Slave To The Labels?

"My momma was raised in an era when, Clean water was only served to the fairer skin

Doing clothes you would have thought I had help
But they wasn't satisfied unless I picked the cotton myself.
You see it's broke nigga racism
That's that "Don't touch anything in the store"
And there's rich nigga racism
That's that "Come here, please buy more"
What you want a Bentley, fur coat and diamond chain?
All you blacks want all the same things
Used to only be niggas now everybody play me
Spending everything on Alexander Wang
New Slaves

You see it's leaders and there's followers
But I'd rather be a dick than a swallower"

-Kanye West "New Slaves"

Are you a slave to labels? Seeing people lining up and fighting over a pair of shoes is disappointing. No one stands in line for things that matter anymore. These materialistic things come and go but things like education and your faith
are things that will remain as long as the same effort from the beginning stays the same. If the shoe you been in line for was an off brand label would your desire still remain? if that top top designer shirt you saved up for mean the same or even be in your closet if it was sold at Walmart? The labels seem to  really own so many young youthful minds. They follow by lead of example from the "role models" they look up too. Character comes from within not the labels you wear. To hear about people dying over a shoe that will be outdated by the next month is ridiculous. At the end what's more worth it an education or a pair of shoes.

Its nice to treat yourself every now and then, but don't let the labels control you. If you can't afford it don't stress it. It's a stereotype of being "cool", "tight" etc if you have the most expensive, latest thing out. But your character is way more important than a piece of cloth. Go stand in line to vote, to enter a church to register for school, make use of your money don't let your money make you!
